Install on Android

Dernière mise à jour : 3 nov. 2026 · Les articles d’aide sont pour l’instant offerts en anglais seulement.

AfterInspect is a web app. On Android you install it from Chrome, and it then opens full screen from its own icon with no Play Store. Installing matters in the field: the installed app opens straight into your inspections and keeps working with no signal.

Before you start

  • Use Chrome. These steps are written for Chrome. Edge on Android can also offer the install, and the app is set up to receive that offer, but its menus are worded differently. Other Android browsers, such as Samsung Internet, may not offer the install option for AfterInspect, or may word it differently. If you cannot find it in another browser, open the same address in Chrome.
  • Sign in first and stay in the app. The installable part of AfterInspect is the signed-in app, which lives under /app. The marketing pages are not part of what gets installed.
  • Be online. Open and sign in while you have a connection, so the app can save your inspection templates to the phone.

Steps

  1. In Chrome, open your AfterInspect address and log in. In Canada that is afterinspect.ca, in the US afterinspect.com. If you do not have an account yet, see Sign in and confirm your email.
  2. When you are looking at your inspections, tap the Chrome menu, the three dots at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app. On some versions the entry is called Add to Home screen. Either one installs it. If Chrome offers a choice between a shortcut and an app, choose the app.
  4. Confirm the prompt. The AfterInspect icon appears on your home screen and in your app list.

The exact wording of the menu varies a little by Android and Chrome version.

The Install app button inside the app

Chrome can also offer the install to AfterInspect directly. When it does, an Install app button appears at the very bottom of the page, under your inspections. Scroll down to find it.

The Install app button at the bottom of the page

The button looks the same on your phone.

Tap it and confirm Chrome's prompt. The button goes away after you tap it, and it also does not show once the app is installed. Chrome decides when to make the offer, so you may not see the button on every visit. If it is missing, use the menu in steps 2 and 3.

What to expect

If something goes wrong

  • No Install app or Add to Home screen in the menu. Check that you are in Chrome, that you are signed in and on a page inside the app, and that it is not already installed. Reload the page and look again.
  • No Install app button at the bottom of the page. It only appears when Chrome offers it. Use the three-dot menu instead.
  • You are in Edge or another browser and the option is missing. Open the same address in Chrome and install from there.
