Branding your report

Last updated Nov 3, 2026

Branding is where you make reports look like yours: a logo, two colours, a heading font, a cover layout and a few lines of text for the footer and the About page. It applies to every report your account produces and to the page clients open from your link.

Open Branding

Open the menu at the top right, choose Account, then Branding under Business. Anyone signed in to the account can open it.

Several labels are spelled differently on the US site. This article gives the Canadian spelling first: Accent colour and Secondary colour are Accent color and Secondary color there, and Licence numbers is License numbers.

Set it up

  1. Logo. Tap the box under Logo and choose a PNG or JPG file. The box shows your picture and "Saved - choose another to replace it" once it has uploaded. Anything that is not a PNG or JPG is ignored without a message. The cover shows it at a fixed height, with the width following the picture's proportions.
  2. Letter mark (optional). A small, icon-only mark for places a wide logo does not fit: the badge on the About this report page and the footer of every PDF page. If you leave it empty, your logo is used there instead.
  3. Accent colour. Tap one of the seven suggested colours, or tap the swatch to pick any colour. The code beside it, such as #0f766e, is the colour you chose.
  4. Secondary colour. Pick this the same way. It is the dark band behind the heading on the web report and a marker colour in the PDF.
  5. Heading font. Choose Default, Serif, SansSerif or Condensed. Only headings change. Body text is always the same typeface.
  6. Cover layout. Choose Classic, Modern, Minimal or Bold. They are compared below.
  7. Cover photo. Optional. It is used on the PDF cover when the inspection has no photos of its own. Once an inspection has photos, the first one is used instead. The web report header uses the cover photo you set here.
  8. Tagline (optional). One short line under your logo on the About this report page.
  9. Add a home maintenance guide to my reports. Tick it to add a seasonal checklist for the homeowner before the limitations page, in the PDF and on the web link. Re-inspection addenda leave it out.
  10. Footer text. One line, centred in the footer of every PDF page.
  11. Licence numbers. Free text, for example your licence number and any associations. It shows on the About this report page and at the bottom of the web report.
  12. Contact block. Several lines of your own text, such as your company name, phone and email. If you have filled in structured contact details under Report pages, those are shown instead; see Report pages.
  13. Tap Save.

The Branding form with a logo, a teal accent colour, a navy secondary colour, the Serif heading font, the Modern cover layout, a cover photo, a tagline, footer text, licence numbers and a contact block filled in, and a small sketch of a report page below

The logo in these pictures is an invented example, and the page layout narrows to one column in a window this size.

There is no confirmation message after Save. The button reads "Saving..." and then goes back to Save. Reload the page if you want to see what was kept.

Preview before you commit

Under the form is a Preview sketch that updates as you change colours, logo and the licence and contact lines. It is a rough drawing. For the real thing, tap Preview the PDF. The button reads "Rendering..." and the page then shows a sample report built with whatever is on the form, saved or not, so you can try a change before saving it. The sample is a made-up inspection, not one of yours.

The four cover layouts look like this with the same logo, colours and photo. These pages are the PDF the preview produces, shown here side by side.

Four sample report covers side by side, labelled Classic, Modern, Minimal and Bold, each using the same teal colour, logo and exterior photo

The cover, the About this report page and the table of contents of a sample report: the cover has a photo band and a teal panel, the About page shows the logo, licence number, contact lines and tagline, and the footer carries the footer text

What changes where

  • In the PDF: the cover (layout, photo, logo, accent colour, heading font), the About this report page (logo or letter mark, licence numbers, contact lines, tagline), the footer of every page (mark and footer text), and the optional maintenance guide.
  • On the web report your client opens: your logo and cover photo, the secondary colour behind the heading, the accent colour for links and buttons, your tagline, and your contact block and licence numbers at the bottom. Heading font, cover layout and footer text are PDF only.
  • On your booking page: the accent colour. See Online booking and availability.

The top of a client web report in draft preview: the logo over the cover photo on a navy header band, the property address, then teal links to the Major and Safety findings under the severity counts

This picture is the draft preview of an inspection, the page you see with "Draft preview: your own view of the client report." above it. A published report looks the same without that banner. See Complete an inspection and generate the report.

Reports you already made

The web report reads your branding every time it is opened, so a change shows up there straight away. A PDF is built when you generate it and keeps the look it had then. To refresh an existing one, open the inspection and tap Regenerate report; see Report versions.

If something goes wrong

  • "Could not upload the logo. Try again." The same applies to the letter mark and the cover photo ("Could not upload the letter mark. Try again.", "Could not upload the cover photo. Try again."). Check your connection and choose the file again. Save stays disabled while an upload is running.
  • "Could not save branding. Try again." Nothing was saved. Check your connection and tap Save again.
  • "Could not generate preview." Try again. The preview needs a connection.
  • You picked a file and nothing happened. Only PNG and JPG are accepted; other types are ignored.
  • A colour looks different in the PDF. Screens and paper differ. Use the PDF preview rather than the sketch to judge it.
